I recently received this Elizabeth Arden Blush, from the Beauty Bulletin to review. The timing could not have been better because I was really running low on my current blush! I have not used this product before so I was really keen to try it out and see what results I got.
I love using blush! I feel it gives your overall look that extra polish but in saying that, you must be careful not to over do blush, otherwise you could end up looking like a clown!

The Elizabeth Arden Blush that I received is from the Beautiful Colour Collection and the shade is Plum Perfection 03. This Radiance Blush, is colour-true and high-pigmented, to provide the ultimate definition, for a natural, radiant glow. It is also enriched with vitamins and antioxidants to help soothe and protect the skin.
Many people are afraid of using blush but the key things you need to remember are: everything in moderation and find a colour to suit your complexion! If you stick to these principles you will be left with a look that is natural and sculpted rather than over done and clown-like.

To apply blush successfully you also need the correct brush, so do yourself a favour and buy a proper blusher brush. I use a Kabuki brush, similar to the MAC one shown above. I find this type of blush brush works brilliantly for me but you need to find one that does the job for you.
I have put together a short video on how to apply blush, which also includes my thoughts on this product and a few other makeup tips. You can also subscribe to my YouTube Channel to keep up to date with future beauty reviews.
Disclaimer: I received the Elizabeth Arden Blush from the Beauty Bulletin to review but I was not paid for this post and all the opinions are my own.

A few weeks ago I received an email enquiring whether I would like to receive a Beauty Spoon to try. I was intrigued from the onset! I have heard about this amazing beauty tool but had never yet seen it in the flesh.
So what is a Beauty Spoon? The Beauty Spoon is designed with an ergonomic handle and flexible stem making it easy to retrieve every ounce of liquid and cream located at the bottom of your product bottles and containers. It can be most frustrating when you can see the cream at the bottom of the jar but are not able to get to it, especially with beauty products being so expensive! It also comes equipped with a contoured spoon for retaining and scooping out as much liquid as possible.
When you are finished using it simply wash The Beauty Spoon with soap and it is also dishwasher safe! Using The Beauty Spoon, to scoop out your beauty products, also avoids getting bacteria, from your hands, into your products when you are using them.

I am loving using my Beauty Spoon and think that it is an essential beauty tool that maximizes the use of all your beauty products!
The Beauty Spoon retails at R110 and if you would like to find out more or purchase your own Beauty Spoon visit their website.

I love this gorgeous Essie shade Jam n’ Jelly, it is a warm fuschia pink with an iridescent sheen. It is so perfect for summer and looks gorgeous on your fingers and toes. It looks wonderful with white and even more stunning if you are wearing black! To tell you the truth it is one of my all time favourites, let’s just hope they keep it around for a while.

Today I am reviewing two products from the Kiehl’s Ultra Range – the Ultra Facial Toner and the Ultra Facial Moisturizer.

Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Toner – A toner should be a part of your everyday beauty regime but not the oil stripping variety, that quite a few brands offer. Your toner should cleanse your skin while at the same time restoring the balance that everyday elements disrupt. The Kiehl’s Ultra Toner is a pH-balanced, alcohol free toner, which effectively removes surface debris whilst hydrating and comforting the skin. The toner has a milky consistency as a posed to many that are a clear liquid, it leave your skin feeling silky and smooth rather than dry and taught. It also provides the ideal preparation for your Facial Moisturizer.

Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Moisturizer – The famous Ultra Facial Moisturizer is a light yet effective lotion that leaves skin feeling soft and nurtured. Although the formulation is light I found that being an Ultra Moisturizser, it is a bit too nourishing for my skin and it is probably better suited to dry skin. It did not make my skin overly greasy but I do imagine mid summer it might give me a bit of a “glow”. I could see myself using it in the evening, rather than for daytime application. It is recommended for all skin types and contains *Squalane, Vitamins A and Vitamin E. It is also a favourite with make-up artists for its versatility and lightweight formula! There is also an option in this range that contains an SPF15.
If you would like to try Kiehl’s products but are not in the Gauteng area, then you can order and have the products delivered to your home via Edgars Fashion Hotline! Phone 0116857000

*Squalane is a natural hydrocarbon and triterpene derived from a variety of plant and animal sources. It is a component of human sebum. Squalane is a saturated analog of squalene, from which it can also be produced by hydrogenation.

My beauty pick of the week features my latest summer Essie Nail Polish, Pink Diamonds. A very pretty sparkly pink shade, in keeping with my pink theme for Breast Cancer Awareness! The colour is a very girly-girl pink, reminiscent of cotton candy and although the pearly frosted effect, is not always my favourite I simply love the gorgeous pinkness of it all!
Essie is available from DisChem and all major pharmacies and retails for approximately R99.
