A few weeks ago I received an email enquiring whether I would like to receive a Beauty Spoon to try. I was intrigued from the onset! I have heard about this amazing beauty tool but had never yet seen it in the flesh.
So what is a Beauty Spoon? The Beauty Spoon is designed with an ergonomic handle and flexible stem making it easy to retrieve every ounce of liquid and cream located at the bottom of your product bottles and containers. It can be most frustrating when you can see the cream at the bottom of the jar but are not able to get to it, especially with beauty products being so expensive! It also comes equipped with a contoured spoon for retaining and scooping out as much liquid as possible.
When you are finished using it simply wash The Beauty Spoon with soap and it is also dishwasher safe! Using The Beauty Spoon, to scoop out your beauty products, also avoids getting bacteria, from your hands, into your products when you are using them.

I am loving using my Beauty Spoon and think that it is an essential beauty tool that maximizes the use of all your beauty products!
The Beauty Spoon retails at R110 and if you would like to find out more or purchase your own Beauty Spoon visit their website.

I love this gorgeous Essie shade Jam n’ Jelly, it is a warm fuschia pink with an iridescent sheen. It is so perfect for summer and looks gorgeous on your fingers and toes. It looks wonderful with white and even more stunning if you are wearing black! To tell you the truth it is one of my all time favourites, let’s just hope they keep it around for a while.

My beauty pick of the week this week is a new shade of nail polish I am trying out for spring. It is from the Mavala range, no. 98, called Marrakech. It is a beautifully rich, deep coral shade and goes perfectly with the new coral blouse, which I bought last week from Zara. I think this shade will be wonderful for spring/summer with all the beautiful floral prints that are in-store at the moment, as well as liven-up a crisp white outfit.
I love the dinky size of the Mavala nail polish pots, they are perfect for packing in your overnight bag when travelling and in your make-up bag for nail-emergencies on the run. The only negative is that the polish did start to chip at the ends of my nails after the first day but nothing a bit of top coat can’t fix!
To keep up to date with new shades and promotions you can follow Mavala on Facebook.
Recommended retail price R59.95 available at Dis-Chem and Clicks stores.

My beauty pick of the week this week features one of the products that we are giving away in one of our Woman’s Day Hampers, it is the Liquid Gold Pure Tissue Oil by Busby. Liquid Gold Pure Tissue Oil is a clinically proven face and body oil formulated, by Busby Natural Oils, to improve the appearance of scars, stretch marks, wrinkles, ageing and dehydrated skin.
Our mission is to develop and manufacture premium products, which are natural, have proven benefit, and retail at affordable prices. ~ Busby Natural Oils
As a woman of almost forty and a mom of two I am always on the look out for products that are beneficial for both stretch marks, ageing and dehydrated skin. I used tissue oil after both my births and still use it to prevent scaring or dry skin, so I was super excited to try out Liquid Gold Pure Tissue Oil and I am really loving it! I especially love the fact that the tissue contains natural oils such as Avocado, Grape Seed and Rose Hip oils giving it the added advantage of being a natural formulation. The bottle has a pump-action top which makes for extremely easy use and application. The tissue oil also comes in a wand size, which is perfect for carrying in your make-up or travel bag. It has a wonderful natural fragrance.
Liquid Gold is more than 85% natural. The only non-natural ingredients include Cetearyl Ethylhexanoate (for fast effective absorption), added Vitamin E (vital for efficacy) and the IPM emollient (of which only 30% is non-natural). The use of natural ingredients provides for the product’s success in terms of its efficacy and its suitability for sensitive skin.
I found that the Liquid Gold Pure Tissue Oil was easily absorbed by my skin and did not leave my skin feeling greasy. I have just started using this product, so I will definitely report back in the next few months to let you know the long-term effect of using it.

My beauty pick of the week this week is Fiber Lash Brush On Lashes by Model co. Fiber Lashes are brush on lash extensions in a bottle! I have never been one for falsies but this sounded like a great idea, so I thought I had to give it a try. It will not be replacing my daliy mascara but it is great for the evening, especially if you are wanting to create a bit more of a dramatic eye.
There are two bottles in the box, one which contains the Extension Mascara and the other contains the Fiber Lashes. It is very easy to apply, firstly you apply the Extension Mascara, you then apply the Fiber Lashes over the mascara, followed by a second coat of mascara. It gives you a great effect without the hassle of false eyelashes. Below you can see my how to video:

It is also very easy to remove afterwards, just use your normal eye make remover on a cotton pad – it is as simple as that.
The recommended retail price is R340.00 - For local stockists click over to Luxury Cosmetics Website.
