Mr Price Home, the most loved homeware retailer in South Africa, recently launched Mr Price Home Online Shopping – much to the delight of many South African shoppers! I was fortunate enough to attend the launch party last week in Durban, which was lots of fun! [Read more…]
Style by Super Mom Seeing Red
I know the weather today is a bit chilly for this outfit but it was a post that was meant to be published last week but alas did not happen! Well if nothing else here is something to brighten a rather grey day in Cape Town!
These red skinny jeans from Woolworths are my new favourite item of clothing! Well you know by now I love red and lucky for me it is super popular this season. The floral T is also from Woolworths and the jacket you must know by now is from Mr Price and was featured here and here.
The skinny jeans are a great fit, very flattering(so the hubby tells me) and I have taken to rolling the hem of my jeans up, for a preppy-look, which according to Lucy da Costa from Style Society SA is bang on trend! I am loving this floral T which also has the high-low hem I have blogged about before.
These gorgeous pumps, from Luli Pulani, are one of my favourite pairs! Not only do they look good but yes they are red and super comfy too!
I am hoping that this is not the last of the good weather but that said I am really enjoying the transition from my summer wardrobe to autumn/winter and have bought a few fab things, which I will share soon!
Items: Red Skinny Jeans R250 Woolworths, Floral T-Shirt R130 Woolworths, Skinny Grey Belt R99 Woolworths, Studded Denim Jacket R179 Mr Price, Floral Pumps from R500 Luli Pulani, Red Beads Woolworths(Last winter), Russian Red Lipstick R180 MAC, Red Nail Polish Nails Inc.(Bought in UK a while ago)
Style by Super Mom
This weeks Style by Super Mom features a few of my style and fashion finds and the popular trend of high-low hems or shirt-tails. This trend can be seen across the fashion spectrum in shirts, skirts and dresses. I thought I would try a short-sleeved chiffon top, in classic black, from Mr Price, as my introduction into the trend. The great thing about this look is, if like me you are a tad on the short side, it is perfect because it cuts shorter in the front, making your legs look longer and it will hide a multitude of sins out back! 😉
I paired the black top with a pair of dark skinny jeans, from Woolworths and these new, super cute, black Gino Paoli pumps I just bought from Queue Shoes.
Black really is a classic colour and definitely one of my favourites for the evening or a more sophisticated day-time look. Wearing all black during the day can be quite severe but if you pair it with contrasting accessories or a bright nail polish or lip colour it can be super chic.
This gorgeous pearly lilac nail polish by Cherimoya, which I received in a goodie bag last week, is not a colour I would normally choose but I am loving it and it looks great with black! The only thing I do not like about it, is that the nail polish brush is a bit too thick.
The final touch to complete your look is a spray of your favourite fragrance and mine at the moment happens to be the Lady Gaga Fame – rather unusual because the fragrance is actually black! So SEXY!
Items: Black High-low Top R79 Mr Price, Dark Skinny Jeans R275 Woolworths, Animal Print Scarf (Gift), Black Gino Paoli Pumps R329 Queue Shoes, Two-tone Bracelet R120 Woolworths, Cherimoya Nail Polish R19.95

My Top SA Fashion Stores
I am definitely what is more commonly known as a Shopaholic! I love fashion and enjoy keeping up to date with the latest fashion and style trends, not to say that I only shop the seasons trends but I do think that it is fun, to have a few fashion items in your wardrobe!
I have been blessed with two mini fahionistas as well, so needless to say shopping is a big part of what we do. This is a list of My Top SA Fashion Stores, for adult and tween fashion.
Cotton On – This is probably more a favourite of my eldest daughter as their clothing does tend to be aimed at the 15+ age group. I have on occasion managed to find a few items there for myself but their trousers tend to be quite a narrow fit, not good if you have “womanly” curves! Cotton On also has great accessories, at very reasonable prices. The only negative is they do not cater for the in between ages, their kiddies range stops at age 8, so my 9-year-old cannot shop there. Cotton On also have a great men’s wear range!
Mr Price – Mr P is a great place to find awesome fashion items, at prices that will not break the bank! It is perfect for fashionable clothing that you can wear for one season and not feel too guilty getting rid of, if it is not trendy next season. I must admit I find their children’s range a bit bleak, I do however love the fact that my eldest daughter can quite happily shop from their adult range, as their items are young and fresh and not OTT.
Woolworths – Woolworths is probably the store I frequent the most, especially for items for myself. They have great classic items and although they keep up with the fashion trends, their clothing is still great quality. Woolworths also caters for a great variety of shoppers with the various clothing ranges they stock such as Studio.W, Trennery and Country Road.
Zara – I have been shopping at Zara long before they landed on SA shores and have always loved the brand. I was thrilled when they decided to open a branch at the V&A Waterfront! Although a bit more expensive than the other stores I have mentioned, you can find great quality fashion items as well as great classic pieces. There international sizing can be a bit confusing initially but once you get the hang of it there is no going back!
I will do a similar post in this series, in the future focusing on Kiddies Fashion Stores, so keep a look out for that! For more posts in My Top 4 Series click here…
