This weeks style post is all about which colours are trending for autumn and winter fashions this year! I get super excited about seeing what is new in the stores and on-line on fashion websites! Yes I am slightly obsessed! As I have mentioned I am certainly not a slave to fashion but I am definitely fashion conscious. I feel that I have my own sense of style but I love to have fun and incorporate fashion trends into my existing wardrobe. There are so many ways to do this from actual clothing items to accessories and even makeup or nail polish colours.

I think it is vital that even if you shop the fashion trends, that you remember to dress your body shape and not wear things that do not flatter your figure, all in the name of fashion! A program I am loving at the moment, mostly when my hubby is not around
, is Gok Wan’s Style Secrets. My hubby may not be a fan but I think Gok imparts valid and essential fashion advice. The show is aimed at singles but his message applies to all woman who want to embrace their sensuality and dress their individual body shape and most importantly have the confidence to do it with style!

One of my favourites trend colours for this season is deep purple! Above you can see the Pantone Fashion Report for Fall 2013, which includes wonderfully rich colours, perfect for the colder months ahead. I love most of these colours and have already started scouting the fashion stores to find the ones that I do not have in my wardrobe.

Over the next few weeks I will be sharing some of my fashion and makeup finds for autumn and winter, giving you some ideas about how to introduce these colours into your existing wardrobe.

The studded denim jacket above from Mr Price, is one of my favourite finds for Autumn/Winter this year. I think it is the vivid Indigo colour that I love so much. It looks great with your basic colours like black, white and grey but it really pops when you pair it with red. That of course is material for another post entirely!
The other thing I love about the jacket are the gold studs, I have been dying to own something with studs and I thought this was the perfect place to start! I am wearing the Mr Price jacket over my leggings and long T from the EarthAddict Classic range.

Gold is definitely one of my most popular accessory choices for the season. It compliments black beautifully but works equally well with brights such as red and orange, which are also trending this season.
The ring above is my latest purchase from Accessorize, I have the same style ring in grey and white and I have had so much wear out of them this summer. I love chunky jewellery and I have gotten so many compliments wearing these rings that I simply could not resist the gold one! The gold bracelet it also from Accessorize.

The nail colour I chose for this outfit is Carry On by Essie, it is one of my favourite winter shades. It is so dark and sultry, without being too goth-like! I love it!

This weeks Style by Super Mom features a few of my style and fashion finds and the popular trend of high-low hems or shirt-tails. This trend can be seen across the fashion spectrum in shirts, skirts and dresses. I thought I would try a short-sleeved chiffon top, in classic black, from Mr Price, as my introduction into the trend. The great thing about this look is, if like me you are a tad on the short side, it is perfect because it cuts shorter in the front, making your legs look longer and it will hide a multitude of sins out back!

I paired the black top with a pair of dark skinny jeans, from Woolworths and these new, super cute, black Gino Paoli pumps I just bought from Queue Shoes.

Black really is a classic colour and definitely one of my favourites for the evening or a more sophisticated day-time look. Wearing all black during the day can be quite severe but if you pair it with contrasting accessories or a bright nail polish or lip colour it can be super chic.

This gorgeous pearly lilac nail polish by Cherimoya, which I received in a goodie bag last week, is not a colour I would normally choose but I am loving it and it looks great with black! The only thing I do not like about it, is that the nail polish brush is a bit too thick.

The final touch to complete your look is a spray of your favourite fragrance and mine at the moment happens to be the Lady Gaga Fame – rather unusual because the fragrance is actually black! So SEXY!

Items: Black High-low Top R79 Mr Price, Dark Skinny Jeans R275 Woolworths, Animal Print Scarf (Gift), Black Gino Paoli Pumps R329 Queue Shoes, Two-tone Bracelet R120 Woolworths, Cherimoya Nail Polish R19.95

Style by Super Mom is your new weekly dose of style! Keeping you up to date with Fashion, Beauty, Accessory and Decor items that are hot and happening but will not break the budget!

This gorgeous studded Denim Jacket from Mr Price, is the first studded item that I have added to my wardrobe and I am loving it. Needless to say so is my eldest daughter – she has had her eye on it since I brought it home! Who does not like denim and it is perfect for those chilly summer evenings.

This stunning Over-sized Coral Bangle was actually a pressie from my man for Valentines, which I think was super sweet and yes he got the colour so bang on! I am very impressed by his excellent taste!

I am a bit of a bag collector but have held off on buying a Cross-body bag, as I felt most of them look like a bad version of a school bag but this beauty is from Studio.W at Woolworths. It is classic and classy and the neutral stone shade means that it goes with most anything you wear. Admittedly it is rather small but it fits all the important stuff a girl needs -some lippie, cash, credit cards and my iPhone!

This beautiful collar necklace from Woolworths reminds me of a bejeweled crown and it is a perfect combination of all my favourite colours! It looks stunning with the denim jacket, giving you a stylish pop of colour and will add a bit of added glamour to any outfit.

This is my first time trying anything from the BYS cosmetic range and I have been impressed by this nail polish! The shade is called Astro Gold and fits in really well with the Denim and Gold theme I have going on.

Last but not least is this lovely neutral eye shadow by Essence – “Cappuccino Please”, it is perfect for achieving a wonderful shimmery-eye. It also looks amazing if you blend it with a gold shadow and all you need to complete the look is a swish of sexy black eyeliner!
Items: Studded Denim Jacket R179 Mr Price, Studio.W Cross-body Bag R199 Woolworths, Gold Collar Necklace R120 Woolworths, BYS Astro Gold Nail Polish(from my Dec Rubybox), Essence “Capuccino Please” Eyeshadow 19.95 Dischem.

I am in the throes of getting myself sorted for going away and thinking about what to pack for our summer holiday. All I want to pack are dresses, shorts and T-shirts but then we have weather like today and I realise I do need a few warmer options! I love this rather casual but still very chic look, which Oliva Palmero has put together. It is very simple really, all you need are a pair of skinny jeans, a casual shirt, a slouchy jumper and ballet flats. There is also nothing nicer than a great pair of jeans with a long white T! Those items will definitely be on my packing list!
Have a Casually Chic Fashion Friday!
