Beautiful Earth Barrier Cream Review

by Shelley Nell on October 25, 2012

Recently we were asked to review the Beautiful Earth Barrier Cream. Beautiful Earth is an amazing range of 100% natural personal care products, sold to both the individual consumers and the hospitality industry. This brand is no stranger to Super Mom Blog, as we have done reviews of their products before, which you can see here.

The BE Barrier Cream contains Calendula and Benzoin essential oils, which act as a natural barrier to protect delicate skin against wetness.  Also very effective for treating nappy rash. Apply a thin layer on baby’s bottom before putting on a nappy. ~ BE

Below is the feedback we received about the Barrier Cream, from Lyndsay, who is a mom to four boys:

Her initial thought, was that the cream was quite thin in consistency. “As a ‘Barrier Cream’ I was expecting something quite a bit thicker, much like other products on the market. It goes on really well and sinks in without leaving a greasy residue; you could even use it as an all over body cream.” When she applied it to her baby son’s bum, it was almost transparent so she was initially hesitant that it would act like a barrier cream, but she was pleasantly surprised. He had no adverse reaction to it (and her boys all have problematic, eczema prone skin) and his bum was smooth and clear.

The product does have a fairly strong smell – not unpleasant but something different to what you would normally associate with a baby product, again her son is very sensitive to most products, so she normally buys fragrance free products.

Thank you Lyndsay for your feedback!

I think that sometimes natural products are somewhat different to their more synthetically processed counterparts and do not necessarily smell or feel the same, but in essence if they do the same job and we are doing something for the environment in the process, we should at least give them try. ~ Super Mom Blog

My Top 4 Body Creams

by Fiona Rossiter on September 7, 2012

Today I am sharing My Top 4 Body Creams with you, in no particular order. There are certain things a like about each one and tend to use them for different things.

  1. Woolworths Vanilla & Brown Sugar body butter – those that know me know that I LOVE vanilla! I enjoy using body butter, especially in winter when my skin is very dry. This body butter not only smells heavenly but it is very nourishing and does not leave your skin feeling sticky. It is particularly good to use after you have shaved your legs – very soothing!
  2. Beautiful Earth Ylang-Ylang & Rosewood body butter - this is really an amazing product which I reviewed a few months back. It is a wonderfully pure body butter made from only natural ingredients and essential oils, it has a soft subtle fragrance, which matches its pretty pink colour.  My tub is just about empty, so it is definitely time to order more.
  3. Busby Liquid Gold Intensive Moisturiser - this is not solely a body cream but I am using it as one. It is extremely moisturising for dry skin and also good for sensitive skin as it contains natural oils and beeswax. I would even go so far as to say it would be great for baby’s skin. It has a fairly thick consistency but is non-greasy and does not have much of a fragrance.
  4. Innoxa Balance Body Lotion with green tea extracts – this is one of the products that I received in my July rubybox and instantly feel in love with it. It is light and non-greasy and smells absolutely amazing, good enough to eat really!!
What is your favourite body cream or body butter? Please share them with us and what you love about them!
