Quotes – Relationships

Something that has been on my mind a great deal lately, is when do you let go of a ‘friendship’ or ‘relationship’ that is not working? I remember somebody once telling me that if a person does not add value to your life, then they should not be in it.

Then why is it so hard to just write people off? My husband has always told me that I am like ‘Mother Teresa’, always trying to save every lost soul and largely giving people the “benefit- of- the-doubt”. Although this can be a good quality, others can take advantage of this, abuse your trust and you get hurt in the process.

I do feel that as I ‘mature’, my need to please people and feel accepted is lessoning. So I am going to endeavour to take the advice above and move beyond the relationships in my past that could be holding me back. Easier said than done, of that I am certain but ‘I can only grow if I let go’!

Fee, a powerful quote …. letting go of a negative relationship, can only feel liberating. Life is truly so short and we need to put our energy into relationships that contribute positively to one’s life. Your website is truly inspirational. Thanks for being you. Love E xoxoxo

I love the quote Fee!! Very hard I must admit – especially when there is no real reason for things turning sour. But, I guess we have to accept things as God’s will and as the one poem goes about friends being like seasons, those that are meant to be in your life, will be. I hope that we are part of each other’s lives for many more decades to come!
