KURO-Bō Activated Charcoal Natural Water System

One of the current and most disturbing environmental issues our planet is facing is plastic pollution, caused by the increasing production and use of single-use plastic products. According to National Geographic, a problem which is most visible in developing African and Asian Nations. With this in mind, I am sharing about the KURO-Bō Activated Charcoal water filter system.

I have always been against the use of plastic and much prefer using glass water bottles, which is why I was excited to receive the Gō-Ecō Glass Water Bottle, from KURO-Bō Charcoal. It is the perfect solution for the gym. Not only does it look great, but it also has an insulation sleeve to keep my water cool. Above all, it is a great alternative to plastic water bottles.

KURO-Bō (which means ‘black-stick’ in Japanese) uses ancient Japanese technology to solve a modern-day problem. The 100% natural, recyclable and plastic-free filter, made of pure activated charcoal, is the only scientifically-proven plastic-free water filter! In addition, the packaging is earth-conscious, sustainable and 100% recyclable.

How to Use Kuro-Bō Activated Charcoal

The Kuro-Bō water filter system is extremely easy to use and once the charcoal is activated it can be used for one month. As well as this blog post I have created a How To Use Activated Charcoal Video. The first step is to boil the charcoal Stick or Kōins, in a shallow pan of tap water for 10 minutes. After that allow to cool and place into the water for a few hours. The Binchotan process turns activated charcoal into nature’s own toxin magnet.

As I mentioned you can use the charcoal for up to one month. Therefore there is no need to remove it from the water, simply top it up. After a month of daily use, re-boil the charcoal for 10 minutes, allow to cool and pop straight back into your water container. You can reuse the charcoal for up to 3 months.

The Benefits of Activated Charcoal Water System

The charcoal is scientifically proven to:

Kuro-Bō Activated Charcoal Water System uses minimal packaging, and is, therefore, a plastic-free, compostable and 100% zero-waste. Using the system ensures pure, clean drinking water with a deliciously refreshing taste.
