A mere 3½ scenic hours drive from Cape Town, you will find Garden Route Game Lodge. Framed by the majestic Langeberg mountain Range, the malaria-free, family-owned lodge is home to an abundance of wildlife, including the Big 5.
Visiting the Garden Route Game Lodge is an experience to be treasured! Guests can enjoy game drives aboard open Landrovers, luxury accommodation, relaxing poolside, as well as wonderful, African-inspired, culinary delights.

Accommodation
Lodge accommodation ranges from Lodge Rooms and Luxury Suites to Luxury Bush Chalets. Modern conveniences you can expect are en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning and ceiling fans, Nespresso coffee machine, bathrobes and slippers, tea and coffee unit, as well as flat-screen Satellite TV. Guests can stay connected with complimentary Wi-Fi, which is available in all the rooms, as well as public areas.
Elegantly decorated Lodge Rooms, with en suite bathrooms, overlook landscaped gardens and enjoy breathtaking views over the game reserve. The family lodge room offers convenient access to the two swimming pools, as well as the children’s play area.
Perfectly positioned, spacious, free-standing Suites, have a private deck overlooking the game reserve. Contemporary decor lends a fresh, elegant feel, and thrill-seekers will love the outside bath and shower!
The Bush Chalets, linked to the main lodge via a wooden walkway, all have private viewing decks and en suite bathrooms. Chalets overlook the waterhole, making it the ideal spot to view the resident wildlife, as well as enjoy breathtaking sunsets over the game reserve.
Dining At Garden Route Game Lodge
Garden Route Game Lodge is home to Serengeti’s Restaurant, the African Boma, as well as a Poolside Terrace. Enjoy interactive dining experiences, inspired by the African bushveld.
Dining at the Lodge is a relaxed affair and they offer special children’s menus, as well as meal times.
Guided Game Drives
The lodge offers guided game drives twice daily. Departure is either early morning or late afternoon, as this is when the wildlife is most active. Game drives are one of my favourite aspects of a safari getaway, even the early morning ones!
There is something truly magical about seeing animals in the wild. Sightings at the lodge may include elephant, lion, buffalo, white rhino, giraffe, cheetah and a variety of antelope species. You may also be treated to a sighting of their free-roaming cheetahs.
The Reptile Centre
For the more adventurous travellers, a visit to the reptile centre is a must. Enjoy an educational tour with the lodges resident curator, getting up close and personal with beauties such as the deadly Black Mamba or the mighty Anaconda. The lodge is home to 28 different snake species, Nile crocodiles, tortoises, as well as rock monitors.
Other Activities
Other activities include birdwatching, guided game walks, night drives, private dining experiences and more.
The stylish new Ayana Spa boasts two treatment rooms with amazing views, offering indoor, as well as outdoor treatments. End your day’s safari adventures with a pampering full body massage or one of their indulgent signature treatments.
