Look of the Week

My look of the week, chosen by one of my fashion interns, features the lovely Emma Watson. Looking super chic in her monochromatic ensemble, with über skinny black jeans and a structured white jacket. This is a style that I am particularly partial to myself. It is a very versatile look that can easily translate from a smart day look to a sexy evening outfit with the help of different accessories. You can tone this look down during the day by swopping the wedges for cute black pumps.

My favourite part of the outfit has to be her gorgeous Tom Ford wedge heels, the chunky chain detail around the ankle is bang on trend and peep-toes are also rather big this season.

My Look of the Week

My look of the week features a gorgeous LBD from one of my favourite local boutiques, Jo Borkett. There is something so classic about a little black dress, it can be a time-less piece to buy and changed-up by adding different accessories.

I recently popped into their Cavendish store in search of a dress for an upcoming family wedding and instantly fell in-love with their latest spring collection. I did manage to find myself a pretty dress for the wedding but have my sights set on the little black dress above! It can be beautifully accessorised, as it is styled above with pops of bold pink ( as you know one of my fav colours).

Glittery Clutch from Accessorize

I thought I would share this gorgeous glittery clutch with you, it is one of my latest accessory purchases from Accessorize. We have a family wedding happening next month and I eventually managed to find the perfect dress last week, at Jo Borkett in Cavendish Square. Needless to say the dress is but one piece of the puzzle, every outfit needs accessories and shoes! As luck would have it I found this beautiful clutch from Accessorize {just the right amount of bling!} the very same day! Now I am working on a pair of peep-toe nude wedges – if anyone has seen any please let me know! 🙂

Clutch Retail price: R399.00 Accessorize

Look of the Week

My look of the week this week features an outfit from the Zac Posen Resort 2013 Collection. A collection featuring such grace and elegance, beautiful fabrics and understated glamour. I especially love the sleek and rather sexy skirt-suits that have become a big trend this season and a popular look in his Resort collection. The beautiful detail on the jacket neckline and sleeves bring this figure-hugging look to a new level. The sassy hour-glass styled skirt brings a bit of femininity and fun to the outfit. The magnificent beaded necklace completes the look amazingly and adds that necessary touch of drama!

Zara Cape Town

After much anticipation, Zara Cape Town has finally opened, much to the delight of the eager Fashionistas of Cape Town. This Friday the 17th August, Zara Cape Town opened its doors, in the V&A Waterfront and I was there, with my shopping buddy in tow, to brave the madness.

I have always been a Zara fan and have frequented their stores in the UK when we are there on holiday, so I was really looking forward to them opening right here on home soil. The store did not disappoint, although things were quite chaotic with people pouring in on Friday to get their fashion-fix!

The merchandising was top draw, with different fashion stories wonderfully displayed, giving customers ideas of what fashion ensembles could work together. Gorgeous corals, soft pastels, Chanel style jackets and lace detail were among some of my favourite looks on display – stunning for summer. Trendy animal prints and studded detail on everything from jackets to shoes, were also very popular, along with rather bright floral prints – not my favourite look.

Above are my purchases from Zara on Friday, I have been on the hunt for a blazer like the one above all winter and was delighted to find this one, part of the Zara Basics range. The coral blouse was my favourite purchase, I love the pretty neckline and it looks amazing tucked into a pair of dark denim jeans. The grey top is my first “spring/summer” buy for the season (yes I am wishing winter away); I absolutely love the plunging back! So all in all it was a rather successful shopping expedition!

Someone asked me my thoughts on Zara’s pricing and how it compares to other retail outlets, I think they are on par with local stores such as Country Road and Trennery in Woolworths but have a far more extensive range! They are certainly not cheap but in my mind worth every penny! The V&A store also has a men’s and children’s department, which my hubby and daughters are excited about exploring.

Zara Cape Town is located in the V&A Waterfront, on the ground floor opposite the Levi store, Trading Hours are 9am-9pm.
