There are lots of amazing events due to be happening in Cape Town and one which I am particularly looking forward to is Decorex! We are planning a few renovations for later in the year and Decorex is the perfect place to find heaps of décor and design inspiration!

This highly anticipated décor, design and lifestyle exhibition, will be happening at the CTICC
Cape Town, between 25th and 28th April 2014.

Decorex Cape Town will include everything from fine home finishes, to beautiful décor accessories, bathroom, appliance, garden and kitchen findings all under one roof.

Below are a few of the events and exhibit you can look forward to at this year’s Decorex:

You can look forward to the Design & Trend Forecast, sponsored by Caesarstone, which will take place on 25^th April alongside Decorex Cape Town. The Design and Trend Forecast lineup includes:Local trends forecaster and analyst Dion Chang, emerging interior design trends by London trend consultancy FranklinTill and Design trends fresh from the top international kitchen design fair Eurocucina, presented by Caesarstone.

Quirky design duo Liezel Fourie and Bartel van Vuuren of Sobeit Studios have been invited to create a feature installation at Decorex Cape Town depicting the Design Your Life theme. They will curate and style a show-stopping space that will show off an unlikely concept of ‘uncomfortable beauty’.

Topping the bill at Decorex Cape Town is designer Greg Mellor in association with fabric house St Leger & Viney, who will design and curate the highly anticipated Decorex Designer Spotlight. Greg’s idea for the space is to show how to layer good design with a collection of personal objects, and block printed fabrics added to the mix.

The tongue in cheek “Manscape” project is inspired by the success of the Mancaves feature, in 2012, where some of South Africa’s most popular male celebrities and designers created the ultimate Mancave.

We’re inviting the boys back again – only this time they‘re being sent outside to create an outdoor living space that any South African man would aspire to and want to recreate. We’ve invited them to create a Manscape that reflects the latest trends as well as their own style in outdoor living. Look out for Manscapes designed by fashion designer Craig Port, and pro-surfer Dene Botha.

A new addition to the Decorex Cape Town line-up is the 100% Design South Africa preview pavilion. 100% Design South Africa is a showcase of contemporary local and international furniture, lighting, interiors and textiles. Part of the pavilion is the 100 Beautiful Things sshowcase, in celebration of World Design Capital’s theme of Beautiful Space, Beautiful Things. All the objects in the gallery have been selected by 100% Design South Africa Programmes Director, Cathy O’Clery, and are designed, made and in production in 2014.

The KWV Gourmet Market promises food and beverage pairings with a variety of delicious treats in a night market setting. Set to be a great day out for everyone with a variety of food offerings to suit most tastes. The KWV Gourmet Market will offer food market style frozen yoghurt, gourmet burgers, as well as Wine, Cocktails and Wine Spriters by KWV.

A luxurious bar where selected Graham Beck wines and sparkling wines can be enjoyed alongside food pairings within a comfortable, understated and classic space beautifully put together by Concreate & Forest Collection.
