Beauty Pick of the Week

My beauty pick of the week is a Powder Blush from Almay. I have extremely sensitive skin which seems to be getting worse as I get older and I have found that Almay caters for people with sensitive skin. Their products are Hypo-Allergenic and very gentle on the skin.

I usually use no 01 Natural in the Almay Powder Blush in summer, as I find it gives you a natural sun-kissed glow but I decided to try the 04 Pink for winter. I am loving the colour, it gives me a pretty rosy cheek. For a seamless well blended blush application I have started using a Kabuki brush, which feels so soft, like feathers caressing your cheeks.

Another Almay product that I love is the Clear Complexion One-Step Compact Makeup, which gives create coverage and as it is in compact form makes for easy application on the run.

Beauty Pick of the Week

My beauty pick of the week this week is my latest nail polish purchase, a very pretty Essie shade called “Lady Like”. Lady Like is an elegant soft mauve and is perfect for all seasons, it looks amazing with strong bright colours, like magenta and teal which are trending this winter, as well as with summery whites or natural colours. It is a wonderfully feminine colour and a bit of a change from the bolder colours that I have been wearing on my nails lately.

Beauty Pick of the Week

This week my beauty pick of the week comes from Revlon. I am really enjoying the amazing jewel tones that are trending in both beauty and fashion this season, think luxurious tones like amethyst, sapphire, emerald, ruby and garnet.

I recently came across the Revlon Luxurious Colour, Diamond Lust Eye Shadows which are stunning, perfect for that extra touch of sparkle and drama. The high sparkle shadows have a silky, luxurious texture. My favourites from the colour palette is a gorgeous sparkling midnight blue, called Neptune Star and a pretty almost violet shade called Plum Galaxy.

For a bit of added drama try Maybelline Master Precise Liquid Eyeliner, which I have just received in my June rubybox – it is awesome!

Beauty Pick of the Week

My beauty pick of the week this week comes in the form of a wonderful new product that I have been asked to review. The Cettua range is a hypo-allergenic and dermatologist tested skin care range that is designed with the younger skin in mind. These products are popular in Europe, North America, and across Asia and is now available in South Africa, exclusively at Clicks stores. These products are great because they come in handy packs that you can easily slip into your overnight bag, making the perfect for travelling as well.

The first product I tested are the Cettua Silky and Clear Nose Strips with Charcoal, which is great if you struggle with pimples or blackheads on your nose. By removing toxins and dirt from the skin the nose strips are designed to minimise the occurrence of blackheads. Charcoal is an excellent skin purifier and disinfectant, it effectively absorbs the sebum{oil} from the skin leaving your skin feeling smoother and cleaner.

As well as Charcoal the Cettua Silky and Clear Nose Strips contain Peppermint and Witch Hazel, which both have great natural antiseptic properties.

The second product is the Cettua Pore Control Essence Mask, which I found amazing especially after a long week running around and being exposed to all the elements! You receive two masks in the pack, so there is an extra one to use before that hot date on the weekend.

The mask is designed and formulated specifically to refine and clean clogged pores, whilst also controlling the skin’s oil balance. Each mask contains natural astringents which help shrink and refine the pores, while the added plants extracts, contain antioxidants, have anti-inflammatory and moisturising properties, leaving the skin clean and clear.

Last but certainly not least of the products I used are the Cettua Half Moon Vitamin A&E Patch. This is product is great if you are going out on a date and want to get rid of those tired puffy eyes, especially if like me you spend a great deal of time staring at a computer screen.

The patch is an effective eye mask which helps to combat wrinkles and fatigue with instant results. Normal creams and lotions tend to evaporate quickly after application, while the Cettua Half Moon Vitamin A&E Patch stays on the skin providing a continuous, concentrated dose of specially formulated ingredients to the delicate skin around the eyes.

The patch is packed with Retinol{Vitamin A}, Vitamin E and Grape Seed Oil, which provide the skin with powerful anti-oxidants, moisture and nutrients in 30 minutes.

For an added bit of fun this week I decided to do a “how to video clip” of me applying the Cettua Pore Control Essence Mask, please excuse both my amateurish videographer skills and how extremely odd i look with the mask on! As I said just a bit of Friday fun!

My beauty pick of the week this week is a beautiful, metallic nail polish by Essie called Trophy Wife. Jewel tones are very popular this season and a must have, to add colour to your winter wardrobe. This stunning colour will add a bit of glam to any outfit and looks great on your toes and hands.
