Sunglasses Trends for 2012

sunglasses-1

Sunglasses trends for 2012 are largely based on trends from 2011, also influenced by the trends followed by celebrities and designers.

“Oversized” or “statement” sunglasses are still on trend from 2011, with retro styling typical of styles seen in the 1970’s. Currently it is a very popular style favoured by celebrities, providing that movie star glam appeal made popular by starlets like Audrey Hepburn.

Vintage or vintage styled sunglasses are also very popular, as with clothing the trend to collect vintage pieces – which has become rather fashionable, so too is collecting retro sunglasses from yester-year. If you cannot source actual vintage glasses, then popular sunglass brands are also producing vintage-styled sunglasses.

Sunglasses colour trends for 2012 are varied, with popular neutral shades like black and beige always in style but “colour” is definitely in fashion. From more subtle shades of burgundy’s, purples and orange, moving on to neon colours, which are extremely popular across the fashion spectrum.

Although sunglasses are very much more of a fashion statement than a mere necessity any longer, I do feel it is important to buy good quality glasses and if you can get polarised lenses then even better, as these offer better protection for your eyes from harsh sunlight.

Something else to keep in mind when shopping for a new pair of shades is your colour skin-tone and the shape of your face, you still want the sunglasses to suit you even if you are buying a trendy item.

What brand or style of sunglasses are you wearing this season?

Simple Style Trends

Simple Style

Simple Style by supermomsa featuring old navy jeans

Inspired by my “Look of the Week” this week – simple understated style! There is nothing more sexy than a crisp white shirt and a great fitting pair of jeans, whether they are flared or skinny. It really screams the all-American, “girl next door” look and going into winter you can swop the wedges out for boots or pumps.

Fall Fashion Trends

 Fall/Autumn Fashion Ideas

Fall/Autumn Fashion Ideas by supermomsa featuring reed krakoff handbags

As we move from the warmth of summer into the cooler Autumn or Fall weather we need to adapt our wardrobes accordingly. It is time to trade the flip-flops for pumps or boots and start shopping for those winter essentials. I have put together a few ideas that would suit most women’s lifestyles. These looks are both practical and stylish, especially if you are a mom and are in and out of a car all day long but still want to look good!

Simple Style

Inspired by my “Look of the Week” this week – simple understated style! Simple style is something everyone wants to get right! Looking super awesome with not much effort can be so easy! Keep it understated but wear good quality pieces and you are sorted.

There is nothing more sexy than a crisp white shirt and a great fitting pair of jeans, whether they are flared or skinny. It really screams the all-American, “girl next door” look and going into winter you can swop the wedges out for boots or pumps.

White and denim is that quintessential match made in heaven! Whether it is a white t-shirt or collared shirt or the denim is light or dark it simply just works! Summer go for short sleeves or a white vest and winner long sleeves or simply through on a jacket to stay warm.

I am afraid it’s Jessica Alba again who takes “look of the week”! She just does simple understated style so well! I love the sexy flared jeans, crisp white shirt, accentuated nicely by the dark coral jacket and I am loving the killer wedges!
