My Week on Instagram

This post should essentially have been posted yesterday but I had to take my daughter to have her braces fitted and the day unraveled from there! So without further ado here is My Week on Instagram:

Beauty Products on Instagram

If you are a regular reader of Inspired Living SA {and I hope you are!} then you will know Beauty Products are a big focus of mine. I do get quite a few products from brands to review but I buy quite a few products myself as well. With time being limited at the moment, I am finding getting through all the products and reviewing them quite difficult – I wish there were more hours in the day!

I received the two Revlon products, above, at a Blogger event I attended in January and only really got around to trying them properly last week. I have loved using the Revlon Colourburst Lip Butter – it is the first one I have tried. The colour Tutti Frutti is right up my alley! Truthfully, though, I do not usually buy Revlon lip products because I do not like the formulation and have found they irritate my lips but I was pleasantly surprised with the Lip Butter! The Revlon Colorstay Nail Polish, I am on the fence about – I really love the colour, Wild Strawberry but again not sure about the formulation. After application it developed air bubbles and stained my nails quite badly, even with an undercoat on.

The three hair products above are a few of my everyday go-to products. I am trying not to heat style my hair everyday, which is where the Toni & Guy Sea Spray and the Batiste Dry Shampoo, come in. The V05 Mousse is something I use for extra volume if I am going out and need my hair to look good the whole day. I will do a more in-depth post on my hair care favourites soon!

Weekday Dinnes

I love cooking but sometimes need a bit of a break from creating gourmet meals every night! One of my favourite quick and easy midweek meals are my Spicy Chicken Wraps, it is a family favourite and really simple to make. I make my own Cajun Spice for the chicken, which you can make in a big batch, ahead of time and store in a spice bottle.

Coffee Bloc @ Buitenverwachting

You may remember me raving about the lovely coffee shop at Buitenverwachting a few weeks ago. Well it was hubby’s birthday weekend this week so I treated him to lunch at the Coffee Bloc. The tapas are so delish, just looking at the pic is making my mouth water! The setting is also stunning and the wine sublime – well worth a visit if you have not been yet.

Grant's Birthday

After a very decadent Friday lunch and dinner we decide to head into the mountains, for a bit of a trail run on Saturday. It was amazing, very hot but amazing – I love being in the mountains, there is something so free about being out there!

Sunday was spent with family, celebrating my mans birthday. We also reconnected with an old friend, who lives in the UK. He had bought the bottle of Dom, which you see above, for my hubby for his 40th Birthday and we had kept it to enjoy with him, when we next saw him! Only took us two years šŸ˜‰

A beautiful thing is never perfect

I have decided to publish an inspirational quote each Monday – mostly because I need it as much as the next person! So here is something uplifting and inspiring to start off the week! This one is a bit late but technically it is still Monday! Have an awesome week!

Competitions

Win a SodaStream Source

SodaStream Source

Entries Are Now Closed!

I recently reviewed the SodaStream Source Drinks Maker, which not only makes DIY carbonation sexy; it is also the new kitchen must have. The brand new Sodastream Source designed by Yves Behar one of the world’s top style and design visionaries, was also named a 2013 winner of the prestigious red dot design award, within the product design category. It stylishly turns ordinary tap water into sparkling water in seconds and you can add flavour and bubbles to taste for any occasion, be it a family movie night, fun parties or sundowners.

SodaStream Source

More great news is that Sodastream has a 1/3 less calories than store-bought soft drinks. Pretty impressive, pretty delicious and pretty good-looking. Plus by eliminating all those troublesome plastic bottles, which end up in landfills, making the Sodastream Source pretty good for the planet too! Double win!

4 Things..., Be Inspired

4 Things I love to Instagram

Instagram logo

As you know by now I am a very visually expressive person and I love photography! Instagram is like Pinterest, rather addictive but loads of fun. Snapping shots on the go and posting them has become part of what I do. It is a great way to share all the things you love, via images, with like minded creative souls šŸ™‚

4 Things I love to Instagram

I love beautifully manicured nails and own a rather large collection of nail polish!

Wine and bubbly feature often on my feed! Living in Cape Town I am particularly split with the amazing wine on offer and I frequently have the opportunity of attending wine events and food and wine pairing.

As much as wine features, so does food! Whether it is my own home-cooking or amazing fine dining it will hopefully always be drool-worthy!

Last but not least, I live in such a beautiful place it would be rude not to share it with the world! One of my favourite photographic moments are sunsets! Some so beautiful they take your breath away!
