Crumbs and Cream ~ Out & About
Crumbs and Cream is a new sensation to have hit the streets of Cape Town this summer! I was fortunate enough to visit this quirky ice cream truck at the Watershed Market, at the V&A Waterfront. What a treat! Choose two freshly baked cookies from a selection of delicious flavours. Pick a scoop of delectable Italian ice-cream – et voila you are in ice cream heaven!
Crumbs and Cream Cape Town
Sisters, Shahar and Or Peled, always dreamed of a home full of ice cream and cookies, so they combined the two to make a delicious ice cream sandwich. After trying out many different cookie and ice cream recipes to find the very best, Crumbs & Cream was born!
All the Crumbs & Cream cookies are baked daily, so they are always fresh and warm! Crumbs & Cream have different cookie flavours, which include: candy crush, butter, choc chips, peanut butter, brownies, Oreo and more…
They also have different flavours of ice cream, including: Chocolate, Mint Choc Chip, Caramel fudge, Rum&Raisin. As well as Ice Cream you will find Sorbet, which is vegan and fat FREE. Flavours can include:
Wildberry, grandilla-mango, strawberry, lemon, tropical mango, blueberry…
The Crumbs and Cream menu is whatever you make it. Pick your cookies – I chose 2 different flavours, Brownies and Oreo and decided on a Vanilla Ice Cream centre. You can also add some yummy toppings! The choice is yours!
If you simply cannot make up your mind, then the super friendly staff are more than happy to offer some guidance! They also offer delectable specials, in house creations and limited edition products.
Not only are the ice cream sandwiches to die for but their ice coffee is amazing! But don’t only take my word for it, pop along and have your own Crumbs and Cream experience!
Ice Cream sandwiches sell for R35 each. You can also buy the ice cream and cookies separately, which could be a fun desert option if you are entertaining friends.
The truck does move around so it is best to follow their Facebook page for the exact location each day!

Dash Restaurant and Bar {Review}
Grant and I recently found overselves at Dash Restaurant and Bar for a romantic lunch! With life being so busy, it is not something we get to do very often but it was complete bliss.
Dash Restaurant and Bar
You will find Dash Restaurant and Bar in the popular V&A Waterfront, in Cape Town. This hidden gem is tucked away in the unique Queen Victoria Hotel. The five-star boutique hotel, is an intimate space with gorgeous interiors and creative flare!
Dash restaurant at the Queen Victoria Hotel, is named after the Queen’s favourite pet. The space however is not what I would describe as cute and fluffy but rather the epitome of sophisticated fine dining. The 36-seater restaurant offers diners an elegant yet relaxed experience, with a touch of drama in the presentation of the well-crafted menu.
We started off our lunch with a wonderfully boozy cocktail! Their signature pomegranate cocktail was wickedly delicious. If we did not have to hit the shops after lunch, I would definitely have had two!
For starters Grant decided on the Soup of the Day, which happened to be his favourite, a spiced Butternut Soup! The cheesy toasties were perfect for dunking.
My starter was a rather colourful Caprese Salad, with a selection of tomatoes and rustic ciabatta croutons. It looked like summer on a plate!
I really loved the creative presentation of each dish and Grants main was definitely the dish of the day! The Salmon with Sticky Soy Glazed Fish Cakes and Apple and Mustard Seed Chutney was as beautiful to look at, as it was to eat!
My Sirloin Steak, served with textures of mushrooms, sweet and sour cabbage and sweet potato fries was as scrumptious! I particularly loved the earthy mushrooms, which complimented the steak really well.
Naturally we could not leave with trying a desert! The Vanilla Créme Brûlee was everything a desert should be, decadent, yet balanced and not too sweet! The shortbread biscuits and tart black cherries were a real treat.
We both really enjoyed our meal at Dash Restaurant and Bar and were quite sad that it had to come to an end! I know we will definitely be back, maybe for dinner this time or even for a few of their amazing cocktails.

City Escapes with City Lodge
As you know I love travel, both locally and international but time and budget constraints, usually only allow international travel once a year. We also like to venture along the coast or into the country, for weekend breaks but lately we have been doing more City Escapes. Staying closer to home and exploring more of what Cape Town has to offer! [Read more…]
Tom Ford Private Blend Collection
I know I am sooo behind the curve on this one but I am afraid life has indeed taken over and the past few weeks have been a complete blur. It is an understatement that as kids get older you get busier! So all that aside I could not – not tell you about the Tom Ford Private Blend Launch, which I attended a few weeks back!
The weather on the day of the launch was beyond awful but when has that ever stopped me!!?? As you may know I am a bit of a sucker for beauty products and was really keen to find out more about the Tom Ford beauty brand! I even managed to squeeze in a mini-makeover{hair & makeup}, courtesy of Spoilt Salon in Green Point! I am still getting use to my über blonde self but my makeup was smoking hot thanks to Adele, from Spoilt Salon. After getting my glam on I set out for Edgars in the V&A Waterfront Cape Town, which was the setting for the TomFord launch.
Bubbly was flowing and the all the beauties were out in their finery; I must admit I am a bit of a voyeur and loving seeing what everyone is wearing 🙂 The excitement was electric, almost as if Tom Ford was actually there in person – which I am certain, no one would have minded! Before the official opening we had the opportunity to visit the stunning new Tom Ford Counter, situated in Edgars at the V&A Waterfront and experience the fragrances first hand. I must admit this was a first time experience for me, as I have not had the opportunity, to try any of the Tom Ford fragrances before.
As well as the Tom Ford Private Blend Collection, his signature fragrances are also available at the new counter. The Private Blend Collection is Tom Fords answer to artisanal scent.
“Packaged in a single bottle design, Private Blend delivers sixteen highly original accords of the most fascinating notes in a parfumer’s lexicon{dictionary}. Each fragrance begins with a precious extraction of a single note, such as amber, tobacco, black violet, leather, gardenia and oud wood. Then the secondary sequences of extraordinary ingredients are wrapped around each note to create a completely developed and complex eau de parfum.” Suggested Retails Price per 50 ml R1800
An added bonus was that we were treated to a lippie touch up from the Tom Ford range of gorgeous lip colours. Although I had a nude lip for the night I choose Casablanca, which is a plummy pink, with a brownish undertone ~ a very pretty feminine colour!
This lip stick colour would be perfect for everyday wear and the Tom Ford Lipsticks contain soja seed extract, Brazillian murumuru butter and chamomilla flower oil to give them an ultra-creamy texture and seamless application. If it were not for the rather steep price I would be hooked!
Hopefully this is only the start and we will see much more of the Tom Ford brand in South Africa ~ I would love to own a pair of Tom Ford heels!
As luck would have, it we received a bottle of Black Orchid to take home, which was amazing, seen as it is definitely my kind of fragrance! Thank you again to Edgars and Tom Ford for a wonderful evening!
