Every Paw Print Counts

sweets_RGB-1

I love doing my bit for the environment or supporting wild life conservation. The small amount we do may seem insignificant but in my opinion every bit counts! Especially when doing good includes eating sweeties 🙂

Woolworths and MyPlanet have teamed up to raise awareness and funds to help save three threatened species. With the launch of the ‘Every Paw Print Counts’ campaign, every time you buy a packet of sweets, a bracelet or a shopping bag with the message “Every Paw Print Counts”, a portion of what you pay goes towards helping one of two MyPlanet beneficiaries, the Endangered Wildlife Trust and the Wildlife ACT Fund, for the conservation of the Cheetah, Rhino and African Wild Dog.

Woolworths has long been concerned about protecting our environment and wildlife. Now, with the ‘Every Paw Print Counts’ campaign you can help us give back even more.  For every pack of Every Paw Print Counts Soft Fruit-flavoured Gums sold, R1 will go to protect these endangered animals; for each ‘Every Paw Print Counts’ bracelet R8, and for each reusable ‘Every Paw Print Counts’ shopping bag sold, we’ll donate R10.

You’ll find our ‘Every Paw Print Counts’ products at selected Woolies throughout South Africa and online at www.woolworths.co.za.

If you’d like to do even more for threatened species, you can get a MyPlanet card by applying at any Woolworths store or online at www.myplanet.co.za. Then, every time you swipe your card at Woolworths or other MySchool partners, a donation will go to the organisation/s you choose (you’re allowed up to three beneficiaries) without any cost to you. If you’re already a MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet supporter, you can add or change your beneficiary by calling MySchool on 0860 100 445. You can also link your MySchool card number to any Woolies card to ensure that you give back every time you shop at Woolies.

Remember, every swipe – and every paw print – counts!

Inspired Living

InspiredLiving

As you may have realised by now the name of my website has changed! The change to Inspired Living was not an overnight decision but rather one which has been mulled over for months, if not longer! The one thing I have realised in life, is that I need to trust my instincts and that is exactly what I have done 🙂

Change as they say is as good as a holiday but not always the most comfortable thing to do. The motivation for this name change, stems from a need to better reflect exactly what my website represents and what message I am trying to convey, which is how I arrived at the new name Inspired Living! Essentially my website was created to be inspirational and inspire others to do the things they always wanted and dreamed of doing, especially moms!

My passions are many and this has inspired me to create this space on the web to share my passions with you, which will hopefully in turn inspire you to explore your passions. The main thing about blogging or writing is to remain true to what you love and enjoy doing because this will reflect in all that you publish.

InspiredLiving

I chose to use a dandelion flower to represent the new name because this is what I would like to achieve – “sow seeds of inspiration” to readers and help motivate and inspire them to follow their dreams and aspirations. I chose the colour pink for the logo because as you know it is one of my favourite colours and has been a common design thread throughout my blogging history.

The Name: “Inspired Living SA”

The Mission: “To sow seeds of Inspiration”

The Action: “be inspired”

So thank you for being such loyal readers and welcome to my new home on the web! I hope you love the name and logo design as much as I do and value any comments or feedback you may have 🙂

Be Inspired, Blogging

Sponsored Posts Campaign by Myscoop

As in most lines of work, some bloggers also have aspirations of fame and fortune! For some the personal fulfillment of blogging and having a platform to share their thoughts and feelings is enough. For others who would like to take it further and perhaps earn a bit of revenue from blogging, there are definitely ways to monetise your blog, something I touched on in my post on Blogging Tips a little while ago.

One of they ways to earn money from blogging is to accept and write sponsored posts for companies. This is a concept that has yet to become popular in South Africa. Internationally however, bloggers have been doing this for quite some time now and some of them making quite a packet from it! I am not talking about link based advertising, which more often than not is not disclosed but actually blogging about a product or service for a company and receiving payment in return.

As with most things in life there are various trains of thought on this subject, some for and some against it. I believe that as long as you are honest about which posts are sponsored and disclose this to your readers, there is no harm in doing it. The most important thing is not to spam your readers with endless posts that are not relevant to your website or readership.

Myscoop recently launched a campaign, in the hopes to bridge the gap between bloggers and businesses, in a such a way that will benefit both sides. In essence this new concept is set to introduce businesses seeking to gain exposure for their products or services, to bloggers, creating a platform where bloggers can get paid for putting unique, relevant and high quality content on their blogs.

The benefit for bloggers is an opportunity to blog about and share great new products and services with their readers. In turn businesses will receive great exposure for their brands, products and services via the online platform of the blogger, as well as across social media platforms.

This can be a win-win situation for all concerned and of mutual benefit to the blogging community, readers and businesses a like.

Bodytec

Two weeks ago I was invited to try a session at a Bodytec studio, as part of a campaign to help moms get their pre-baby bodies back! Yikes I somehow think that may never happen for me but who knows. I am not saying I am fat but not everything is where it used to be and I have a few added “curves” that were not there pre kids! I was interested to try Bodytec but I must admit I had no idea what it was, so I did a bit Googling, to find out more. [Read more…]
