Friendship Appreciation Friday

Thankfully it’s Friday – I have made it through a rather taxing week. A week filled with the good, the bad and the down right crazy but its weekend – yay! 🙂

I just want to say to all my peeps out there, I have decided its “Friendship Appreciation Day” today – so you all know who you are, near and far, that also includes family! Thanks for caring and sharing and just being there! 😉

Have a great weekend and if you are in Cape Town keep warm – I have a blazing fire going already!

The Storms of Life

113874861_tgqy8ogq_b-storms

We all have our “stuff” in life that we are going through and sometimes it feels like the storms of life, are battering and bruising us and we cannot seem to get away from them. We can feel so alone in our turmoil, it becomes difficult to see or hear anything clearly. This is the time that we need to turn to God because he is there, no matter what situation you find yourself in.

There is a beautiful song by Casting Crowns, called “Praise You In This Storm” – the lyrics speak volumes to God’s ability to “save us” if we just reach out and ask him. I have included this YouTube video with the lyrics for you to enjoy – I hope it speaks to you as much as it did to me.

Have an awesome day!

Why Do I love Spring So Much?

untitled-1

It’s that time of year – Spring Time, although the weather in Cape Town, does not seem to be playing along but as “they” say: life must go on. So regardless of any weather forecast, come the 1st September I am ready to say hello to spring and bid adieu to winter! To kick off my boots and winter woollies, in favour of Havianna’s and shorts! 8)

Why do I love spring so much?

  • I love spring almost as much as I love pink – as I have said before it is a weird obsession! (Thankfully I have girls who also love pink) I think pink, for me, is reminiscent of all the delicate little buds blossoming.
  • I love spring because it is the season that I met the love of my life – my season of love, need I say anymore!
  • I Love spring because for me it symbolises new beginnings – like the shedding of your old self and starting anew – at the end of winter you see the “birth” of new life all around you, how can that not excite you!

So regardless of what the weather may bring our way, join me in celebrating the season of new life!

Happy Spring Day!

4 Things..., Lifestyle

4 Things You Should Never Do

dsc_04950633-fire

  • Never assist or offer to assist a man with lighting a fire, especially if you get it lit and he cannot – unless you are in the mood for stomping and sulking, you will unleash the  five year old within him!
  • Never “pop” to the shop in an old tracksuit sans makeup – Murphy’s Law you will meet everyone you know, including an old sweetheart from your younger days! 😳

  • Never wax your eyebrows in hurry, or any other body part for that matter, repeat after me – waxing should be left to the professionals– unless you want to attend a dinner  party with only one eyebrow!
  • Never and this is a NEVER EVER, leave young children playing “quietly” while you enjoy a cup of coffee with a friend – unless you would like your walls and floors, redecorated with permanent marker! 😕
