Inspiration Monday – BE Who You Are

Inspiration BE who you are

Inspiration

Hello Monday! I thought maybe everyone, myself included, could use a bit of Inspiration today! Here we are – a new day, a new week, new possibilities, new dreams to dream – so make every minute count! Do not let fear or other people, stand in the way of YOU realising YOUR destiny!

Inspiration BE who you are

No matter what BE Yourself, live life as you were destined, not in someone else’s shadow, as hard as that may be for some of us! As the poster above says “Live a better life – be who you are”

The most dangerous thing you can do is to let jealously and envy rule your life, easier said than done at times, I know! It is time to step out of the shadows and claim your destiny – “be creative”, “be special”, “be fun”, “be awesome” but above all else “BE YOU”

I hope you have a fabulous Monday, filled with Inspiration and awesomeness!

Confessions of a Blogger by Inspired Living SA

We took a little break from our interview series last week but we are back, with more wonderful and interesting bloggers to get to know! In today’s Confessions of a Blogger we meet the lovely Verushka Ramasami from Durban, someone I remember “meeting” on Twitter when I first started blogging but have yet to meet in person!

Hey I’m Verushka , a thirtysomething Durban based lifestyle blogger, who loves travel, food, books and the colour pink.By day a lecturer , by night a blogger. I am the proud mum of two gorgeous puppies called Chai and Zara. I have a mild obsession with all things British having lived there for a decade.Vanilla is my most favourite smell. My motto is #Live2Inspire and that is aim of blogging.

  • When did you start your journey as a blogger and why? I started blogging on a website with guest posts in 2011 and when the site was closing down I knew I needed to create my own space in the bloggersphere. I was asked to contribute to the site by a friend who said I had a way with words.Offically Spicegoddess started in 2012.
  • If you are not blogging where will we find you? My real job is that of a lecturer. I work at a local FET College lecturing Human Resource Management and Entrepreneurship.I start work at midday and finish at half 7. And if I ain’t lecturing you will find me on taking over the world one tweet at a time.

  • Tell us a little about your space on the interweb and what you blog about? I initially created my blog in WordPress (a free site)and this year for my birthday I was gifted my domain www.spicegoddess.co.za by a good friend Jarryd. I am a lifestyle blogger. I write about the world around me, my life , the events I attend and products I review.
  • What do you think makes a blog successful? A successful blog is one that is easy to read and navigate as well as interesting. People enjoy reading honest posts and posts on a regular basis.

  • Being a blogger is not always easy – what motivates you and keeps you going? As blogging doesn’t pay the bills, tho I wish it did it is defo not easy balancing all the things in life. I am motivated by fellow bloggers, friends and my readers who motivate me to write and share my words with them.
  • What have your biggest blogging challenges been? My biggest challenge has been time management. I have lots of different things I do so often making the time to blog is hard. This year I promised myself I would blog at least 3 times a week. I have kept to this goal most weeks and sometimes even blogged more.
  • What do you love most about being a blogger? I love that I have my own space on the web to share my words. I love that I get to interact with so many people from all over the world.

  •  What has your journey as a blogger taught you {about yourself or in general}? Has it changed your life in any way? My blogging has taught me that, my words can have an impact many people, in many different parts of the world. Blogging has changed my life as I am making new friends, attending amazing events and learning more about my world.
  • What are your top 5 SA blogs? Just Pursue It , Project Me, Lipgloss Kisses, I’ll Take it All, Jozilicious {Such a tough choice picking 5 only 🙁 }
  • If you had to give a newbie blogger any advice, what words of wisdom would you impart? Be yourself , write when you want to, don’t compete with others ,write about all sorts before you find out what type of blog you want AND read other blogs and comment on posts.

Thanks Verushka for sharing a bit more about your life and blogging journey on Confessions of a Blogger, with us! You can find out more about Verushka and connect with her here:

Monday Motivation

Monday Motivation Quote by Nelson Mandela

Monday Motivation Quote by Nelson Mandela

For today’s Monday Motivation I thought I would share a quote by Nelson Mandela, who is the epitome of someone who never settled for second best! It can be so much easier to settle for a life less than you deserve, especially when things get tough but the biggest problem is, you may very well miss the opportunity of a lifetime!

I know for me, there have been many times, when I have wanted to throw the towel in and just give up, especially when it comes to my website! If I get discouraged, I simply keep reminding myself that nobody every said it was going to be easy and success only comes through hard work!

So remember these wise words today on your journey to greatness ~ “There is no passion to be found playing small – in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living.” ~ Nelson Mandela
