The Haute Cabrière Restaurant – Amazing Dining with Magical Views

Recently, Grant and I visited Haute Cabrière in Franschhoek to try their new Terrace Summer Menu.

Haute Cabrière Franschhoek

In a magical vineyard setting, with arguably one the best views overlooking the Franschhoek Wine Valley, you will find Haute Cabrière Wine Estate. It is the ideal spot to enjoy the perfect combination of delicious food and wine!

As with their approach to wine, Haute Cabrière’s food philosophy centres on special moments to be enjoyed – coming together around the table, celebrating life, stories, and of course, fantastic food and wine.

The Haute Cabrière Restaurant is now under the guidance of Head Chef Charlton Prins, a Franschhoek local who not only understands the Valley’s seasons and unique atmosphere but also brings it to life.

On The Menu

The menu is inspired by classic French dishes but with a twist – combining local ingredients and the von Arnim family’s love of innovation.

My “dish of the day” was a Pierre Jourdan CC Steamed Mussel starter. Other highlights included the Pan-fried Trout served with roasted bell peppers, leaks, deep-fried gnocchi and beurre blanc, and the Sliced Sirloin with mushroom cream, crispy pomme anna, pan-fried oyster mushrooms, asparagus and tarragon jus.

To end your meal, there is a decadent selection of “Happily Ever Afters”. For chocolate lovers, the Praline Tart is a must, or for something more traditional but with a twist, the Malva Pudding.
