Lief South Africa Anniversary Giveaway

Lief is a typically Dutch brand, established in the Netherlands in 2005. It was set up as a small collection of high quality baby clothing with texts like ‘lief! and stoer!’ {Respectively meaning, sweet and cool} printed on them.

The brand has developed into a lifestyle concept, including baby articles such as cuddly toys, bedding and books. From day one, the concept was a success. Based on Dutch designs, it has flourished into a wide-ranging lifestyle brand. Not only does it  include high quality clothing for babies and toddlers, but also stationary, personal care products, window decoration, bags, bed and bath textiles, paint, soft toys, furniture, wallpaper, wall decoration and playroom accessories.

Within only six years, lief lifestyle has realized over 170 points of sale, including 17 flagship stores all over Europe, and is developing markets in the Middle East.

In June 2012, lief decided to introduce their stunning products, to the South African market and launched their online webshop.

It has also been a lifelong ambition of Lief, founder, Yvonne Woudsta, to give back to society and be able to do something for those less fortunate, especially babies and children, in need. Thanks to the success of Lief, her dream has been realized. Lief supports Orange Babies, a charity organization whose main goal is to help HIV-infected (pregnant) women and their babies in Africa. Lief also supports the project Hope Village, in Namibia, this orphanage, provides refuge to children up to the age of 18. (Lief provides 100% of the financing for the baby and toddler department).

To celebrate the 1st year anniversary of lief in South Africa, two lucky readers can each win a lief  T-shirt – one for a girl in fuchsia pink – with lief! (sweet) written on it and one for a boy, in turquoise – with stoer! (cool) written on it.

Fashion Friday

As you may have guessed by now I have a bit of a shoe fetish but it can be quite an expensive hobbie to have. As with the rest of my wardrobe, my general rule as far as shoe buying goes is that I can justify spending a bit extra on classic pieces and buying good quality brands but fashion is a different story! Fashions change so quickly and colours come and go, so when I buy fashionable shoes I tend to look for the less expensive pairs that I wont mind getting ride of next season, if they are no longer the “in-thing”.

I recently found these gorgeous aqua, über high heels, from Rage, they are bang on trend colour-wise as well. I must admit they are very high and I certainly will not be running anywhere in them, so these will be reserved for the evenings, when all the walking I will be doing is from the car to my table in the restaurant!

I got a bit carried away with the photographs but they are so pretty! They look amazing with white jeans and the punch of red from my pedi complements the aqua beautifully. The colour on my toes is Silken Cord by Essie, also a perfect colour for summer.

Have a Fashionable Friday!

I spotted these beauties, from Europa Art Shoes, last night at a Blogger Event, “Summer In The City, at I love My Laundry in Town. Just for an extra spoil I won a voucher from Europa Art, so I will be heading off to Cavendish Square, to hopefully add them to my ever-expanding shoe collection!

September Glossybox

My September Glossybox was crammed full of wonderful treats, quite a few brands that I have been dying to try, two different fragrances (one of my favourite parts of beauty boxes) and even a rather trendy gold cuff bangle!

  • Prada Candy by Prada – this is a fragrance I have been wanting to try for a while! The packaging is so pretty and pink! The fragrance is quite subtle in my opinion, feminine and sophisticated. A good fragrance for during the day as it is not too over powering, with top notes of caramel and warm vanilla tones, which I love.
  • CH L’eau by Carolina Herrera – out of the two fragrances in this months box this is my favourite! All though the fragrance is said to be flowery on the nose, it is not overly floral. I found it rather fresh with quite a spicy finish, more of a romantic evening out fragrance – so pretty! {Mr loves it too – I may have to hint for it to appear in my Christmas stocking!}
  • Sans Soucis Deep Moist Depot – this two-phase moisture concentrate by Sans Soucis combines botanical ingredients with enriching minerals. It is suitable for all skin types and can be applied to cleansed skin daily. You are required to shake well before use to combine the two-phase ingredients into an emulsion.
  • L’Occitane Almond Milk Concentrate – this creamy formula is suitable for all over body use. It combines almond protein and soft silicium to help support collage synthesis, into a wonderfully rich milk concentrate to help firm and tone the skin.
  • Salon Care Moisture Boost Serum – this locally manufactured serum uses Hyaluronic Acid to boost the skin and help retain moisture. I think that a serum should be a part of your daily skin care regime, especially as you start getting a bit older. I have used another product with Hyaluronic Acid and found it really firms your skin and gives it an overall glow. My recommendation is to use a serum in the evening after cleansing.
  • 4 Flavour Gold Cuff – a great treat in this months box and bang on trend as well! Gold is a definite must for the season and a cuff is a great addition to your accessory collection for summer.
Please watch my video review below for more information and my thought on the products in the September Glossybox:
