Last year was a whirlwind of exciting local trips! One, in particular, that made quite an impression was a visit to Dullstroom, a small town in Mpumalanga province. Exploring a new area is always exciting, and Dullstroom has piqued my interest for quite some time. The base for our two-day trip was the enchanting Walkersons Hotel & Spa.

There are so many wine regions in the Cape that I have yet to explore properly — one of these being the historic Tulbagh Valley. The red wines from Saronsberg Cellar, in Tulbagh, have always been among my favourites, making it hard to believe that I had yet to visit the estate. All that changed with a recent trip to Saronsberg Cellar and a stay in their Vineyard Cottages.

Something both Grant and I love about living in the Cape is that there are so many exciting and different destinations, such as Stellenbosch, just over an hours drive from the city. We often opt for self-catering accommodation when we travel, making it easier to come and go as we please. The Den Apartments, in Stellenbosch, is an ideal base for exploring this historical Winelands town.
